A not so funny thing happened as we were driving to Houston. We pulled off the highway onto a service road to change drivers. Denise didn’t realize that the tree branches she pulled next to might scratch the side of the motor home. Honestly, I was worried as we drove the final 100 miles to Houston. And when we stopped at our destination that night, my concerns were unfortunately well founded.
We were fairly certain that some rubbing compound would remove the superficial scratches, but OLGA is new and shiny and we don’t carry rubbing compound in her limited basement space. But as luck would have it, we were looking at the campsites map which was littered with advertisements of local vendors. Low and behold, there was an ad for RV Detailing.
We called Extreme RV Mobile Detail and were pleased to find Alex answered the phone even though it was well after “office hours”. We discussed the situation making clear that we really didn’t need our brand new rig completely detailed, but would appreciate their help with the scratch. Alex agreed to stop by Thursday morning at 8am. If he was on time, we could hopefully make it to the Houston Space Center by 10am when it opened.
True to his word, Alex arrived at 8am and worked for a little more than an hour in a slight drizzle. When he was done, OLGA looked perfect.
Moral of the story…don’t sweat the small stuff.
