Our tiny house on wheels, requires a tiny trash can. We purchased a collapsible trash can because it takes up very little space when we are on the move, and pops up when we need it. Though at home we use canvas bags when grocery shopping, when traveling we utilize plastic bags which we can rationalize because they become our trash can liners. But spare plastic trash bags can be unruly and take up a lot of room, so we needed to find a way to tame the mess.
Tiny Trash & Tissue Box
An old facial tissue box provides the solution. Simply fold the plastic bags in thirds lengthwise. Then roll the bag from the bottom. Just before you get to the very top, loop the bottom of the next bag into the handles of the first. Then continue rolling. Continue this process and you will be amazed how many bags you can fit in one small facial tissue box. Just like the tissues that once occupied the box, one bag is dispensed at a time.
Is this a great discovery? No. But just like our tiny house on wheels, tiny trash, is one of the little things in life that sometimes provide the most satisfaction.
